Roundwood  Lawn  Tennis  Club - Ipswich

Roundwood is an affiliate of Pauls Sports Club, whose social clubhouse is in Salmet Close.  Our 3 floodlit courts are in a woodland setting nearby, close to Stonelodge Lane.  We have our own new pavilion currently being built, hopefully ready during 2008.

The Wilson Ipswich & District Tennis League final tables
were recently published :-
- our men's 1st team finished runners-up in Division 2, winning six of their
eight matches, & will receive promotion to the top flight next season.
- 2nd team achieved a creditable mid-table finish in Div-5
- 3rd team were relegated from Div-6
- mixed team enjoyed a very successful summer, finishing Div-1 runners up

     The Sunday morning winter league has now re-commenced, as has the
     Felixstowe & District floodlit league.  It has been necessary to withdraw
     the 1st mixed team from this league.
     The new pavilion is nearing completion, with the greater part of the work
     being undertaken by club members in their own time.  It is expected the
     move into the new accommodation will take place in November.

      Two men's and two mixed teams play in the Ipswich & District Summer
      League, and also in the Felixstowe & District Floodlit Winter League.
      Six men's pairs play in the IDL Sunday morning Winter League.
      Social tennis is regularly played throughout the year on Tuesday &
      Thursday evenings, and by arrangement at other times.

  The annual subscription is £90 - separate membership fees are also available
  for families, juniors & full-time students, & also for "Country" members.
  This also includes membership of Pauls Sports Club, which benefits from a
  lounge bar & a sports lounge, with a giant TV screen, & bar prices well below
  pubs.  Your scubscription also includes associate membership of the LTA.

  (Mrs) Jo Bond is the club coach, & a coaching programme started up in spring.
  New members, particularly those already playing regularly, are always
  welcome.  However, we can facilitate those who want to learn to play ...
